how long to dry oak fire wood?
I was wondering how long that it would take to dry oak firewood to the point of igniting it in a fireplace? It was cut off of the tree yesterday.
A good time is at least 6 mos. best would be 8 to 12 months. Green wood will cause alot of smoke and is hard to burn. If you let it dry too much it will burn to fast. I would say at least 6 months
